Facebook pictures and privacy issues

What do people think about people‚ other than your friends‚ being able to see your pictures on facebook.  I have noticed that if someone who isn't your friend has one of their pictures commented on by one of your friends then you get to see their picture even though you are not there friend and they have their privacy options all set to friends only.

It's actually even worse than that.  Once you click on the picture you can then see all the other pictures the user has in their album using 'next' and 'previous'.

I have just been looking on facebook and I think that you can go to privacy >> applications >> other applications and restrict things there.  I'm not sure if this would make a difference though as it is a little unclear.
